I HE late afternoon of 19th July saw the arrival of two weary, hungry travellers at Oxford station. They commented sadly but without bitterness on the fact that whatever strides English railways have made within the last few decades, Sundav travelling in that country has remained very much in statui qpio. The gloom that had settled down on the spirits of the jaded travellers was niot at all alleviated by the knowledge that their quarters in Somerville College would not be available until the following day, so that the problem of securing suitable accommodation for the night still lay ahead.
